This gives the youngest division the athlete is eligible for. Players may always play up.

Every Division.

Cut-off dates for the current season. An athlete is eligible for a division if they were born on or after the date listed.

Waivers & Exceptions

  • Girls 18s in their junior year may play on a 17s team — a national waiver, applied automatically on rosters.
  • Boys 14s in 7th grade may play 13s at the Boys Junior National Championship, and boys 13s in 6th grade may play 12s. Both need Region approval and paperwork filed nationally.
  • Regionally waived boys 14 & Under teams may include players 15 or younger who are not past 8th grade, because of the net-height difference between the 14s and 15s divisions.
  • College participation ends junior eligibility. Once an athlete practices, trains, or competes with any college program, they can no longer play regional or national junior events.

Age definitions are set by USA Volleyball and administered here by the Arizona Region. The July 1 cut-off has been in effect since the 2020–21 season. These are club definitions and differ from High Performance program definitions.
